I challenged myself to write a different kind of story. Most of my books are high-action and this one is no different, but instead of a story that leans similar to Mission: Impossible, Black Widow, The Gray Man, Extraction, etc, THE PENROSE AFFAIR is much more Knives Out and Clue (the game).
This book holds a special place in my heart because it is set in a North Carolina town that I've been many, many times (but haven't been to in about 3 years), BREVARD. I've never lived there, but the beauty around it has always captured my attention and it was so much fun to write a story, some of which takes place on roads I am familiar with!
Also super fun note: although the victim's surname is "Penrose", there is actually a small community northeast of Brevard with the same name, which I found out AFTER naming Elias Penrose. 😆
